In early 1975, Minoru Hayashi established Kabushiki Gaisha Dōmu. Dōmu literally translates to “child’s dream.” And considering Hayashi’s end goal, it was an appropriate name. Race car construction might not have been in the cars, but perhaps he might have better luck with road vehicles. He and his team set out to develop, build, and sell their very own model: the Zero.
Dome started in a section of the Hayashi Racing headquarters. There was a blood bond between the two firms. Minoru’s cousin Shoichi established the company, which built its own race cars and even fielded a team at the time. It was probably known for its iconic wheels, though.
Minoru Hayashi had years of experience designing race machines, but creating a production car came with its own unique challenges. A Hemmings article has an excerpt from the series A Quiet Greatness: Japan’s Most Astonishing Automobiles for the Collector and Enthusiast. One passage details some of the roadblocks that the team encountered, which included creating the bodywork itself, crafting the massive front screen, and ironing out the bugs in the retractable headlights.
Hayashi and his team had wrapped development up by 1978, but the trials were far from over. Now they’d have to display the Zero in front of thousands of showgoers in Geneva. Dome’s fate was now in the hands of the public. So how did they take to it? Quite well, in fact. There weren’t too many other high-profile debuts at this show as far as I could tell, so the Zero had much of the spotlight to itself. The company also received 20 preorders on the spot. This would give the emerging automaker an early boost, provided that the certification process went well.

The 2023 Nissan Z Is A GLORIOUS Return To Form
Переглядів 2,8 тис.5 місяців тому
The production 2023 Nissan Z debuted on August 17, 2021, on Nissan's UA-cam channel. Its lineup was even more streamlined than the 370Z’s. At just under $41,000, the Sport served as the RZ34’s entry point. Above this was the Performance grade at about $51,000. While it does command a premium, the model does add a fair bit to the car. It included a mechanical LSD, unique 19-inch wheels, aluminum...

The De Tomaso Pantera Is An Italian-American Icon
Переглядів 9 тис.Рік тому
The De Tomaso Pantera is a hybrid, or at least it is in the old sense of the word. Nowadays, the term “hybrid” refers to a car that uses an internal combustion engine in conjunction with an electric motor. This hasn’t always been the case, though. During the 60s and early 70s, enthusiasts applied that label to sports cars that had European styling and American power. Machines such as the Sunbea...
The Nissan 300ZX Was The Last True Z Car

Instead, it succumbed to the same fate as so many other Japanese sports cars. Nissan stopped building the 300ZX for the US in 1996 and alto...

Wrong! They sold 86,007 280ZX's in 1979, the most EVER in a single year. I know, I bought one brand new off the lot. As far as handling, the ZX was actually stable at high speed due to real wind tunnel testing. Hell, even Paul Newman drove a 79ZX to victory so calling it's handling poor is laughable. It's honestly a real car and with it's 21 gallon fuel tank was perfect for being "driven". Funny how people today just regurgitate old crap stories and have zero real world experience in what they put out on the web.

I would put some flag or something like that on the antenna on top, so Trucks dont miss and drive over you in bumper to bumper traffic. Other than that, in a European city that tiny thing is great for getting to work and managing to find a place to park, and I guess it has quite good gas mileage, basically what the smart for to is made but fun and unique and not shit. And when you get some open road you will feel about to lift up before breaking the speed limits❤. And I am 100% positive its a chick magnet😎

"To determine the remaining space in the basement levels after accounting for the concrete, let's first calculate the total volume of the basement levels and then subtract the volume of concrete used. 1. **Total Volume of Basement Levels**: - Each tower's footprint: 208 feet x 208 feet - Depth: 70 feet - Total footprint area for one tower: 208 feet * 208 feet = 43,264 square feet - Total volume for one tower: 43,264 square feet * 70 feet = 3,028,480 cubic feet - Total volume for both towers: 3,028,480 cubic feet * 2 = 6,056,960 cubic feet 2. **Volume of Concrete Used in Basement Levels**: - 225,000 cubic yards of concrete were used in the basement levels of both towers. - Converting cubic yards to cubic feet: 225,000 cubic yards * 27 cubic feet per cubic yard = 6,075,000 cubic feet 3. **Remaining Space**: - Total volume of basement levels: 6,056,960 cubic feet - Volume of concrete used: 6,075,000 cubic feet Interestingly, *the calculated volume of concrete exceeds the total volume of the basement levels.* This discrepancy suggests an overestimate or misunderstanding of the volumes involved. For a more accurate figure, the volume of concrete used should be confirmed against reliable engineering records or documentation. In practical terms, some of the concrete would have been used in structural columns, walls, and other areas, which may not account for the entire volume calculation. Therefore, a more precise assessment would require detailed architectural and engineering data.“ - ChatGPT How can a computer figure this out Two Decades later? Just ask the right questions.

Studebakers were not uncommon in our area in the late '50s-early '60s. My uncle had a '57 Silver Hawk in a beautiful red that was very impressive. He had it for a couple of years and then had a white Avanti for a about a year. Now that was awesome looking and attracted a lot of admiration. It reminded me of a spy car. I enjoyed this detailed look into their story especially about Raymond Loewy and the Palm Springs 'getaway'. Palm Springs was so nice in those days. An Avanti would have been perfect to cruise in.

This is very interesting but I always thought the house looked like a single wide mobile home made out of glass and steel. It looks quite uncomfortable and all but unlivable. As for the flooding....my son and daughter rented a tiny house near a lake that would sometimes flood if there was a heavy rain. The owner of the house had it raised up on a taller foundation and installed stairs. It worked well to keep the house safe and dry. Both of my children live in very nice houses now, but they still look back on that tiny house with great fondness.

My 1st love of cars was the z32 red turbo seen in the movie timecop with Jean Claude van dame. My 1st buy with my own money was a 91 white pearl na z32, and my dad used it more than me. Then, I went to a Z34, base model gun metal grey 6 spd. And I still have it. When the Z34 came out on need for speed, I made a vow to get my dream car. I was lucky enough to drive some at my old job in my early 20's. I have made so many mods to my Z34 from suspension, aero, basic power mods, and wheel tire set up. My Z has taken me to the high and lows of my life, and I wanna live long enough to be able to enjoy it as long as I can.

*I haven't purchased a GM Vehicle in 25 years and that has as much to do with how GM killed Pontiac as it has to do with the Garbage they've been building since the 1970's. There are rumblings that Dodge/Chysler/Jeep are about to go extincnt...I'm thinking General Motors Automotive Division isn't far behind them. GM's Build Quality is some of the worst on the Planet* *BTW...Who taught you how to speak english?*
